The GHS Toxic Label adheres to the Globally Harmonised System (GHS) of classification and labelling of chemicals, which was implemented in January 2009. This system is set to replace the existing CHIP regulations by June 2015, phasing out the traditional orange and black CHIP labels. The primary objective of the GHS regulation is to establish a globally recognisable system for the classification and labelling of chemicals.
