The GHS Corrosive Label adheres to the Globally Harmonized System of classification and labelling of chemicals, which came into effect in January 2009. This regulation is set to replace the current CHIP regulation by June 2015, phasing out the existing orange and black CHIP labels. The primary aim of GHS is to establish a globally recognisable system for the classification and labelling of chemicals.
